Fly Tying / Hook storage containers.
« Last post by breamchaser on June 22, 2017, 08:45:52 PM »
Hey gang, I located some small hook storage containers and thought Y'all might be interested. They are Darice bead storage solution tiny containers and come in sets of 45 to 82 pieces, this includes a flat tray and top. The containers themselves can also be bought without the tray. Check at your local Joann's Fabric or better yet Amazon. com.  I hope this helps someone out. Take care, John.

Sadly there is no way to retrieve the messages from the old forum. I was able to put this one back together with the original topics by hand by looking at the snapshots at www.archive.org

A lot of the original messages are still there, but not in a format that can be easily copied. Check them out:

Fly Tying / Ky ratchet and his fly pattern library on old warm fly site
« Last post by Peanutbutter on June 15, 2017, 02:29:15 PM »
There was a tyer that went by something like "Kyratchet" on the original Warmfly site.  He always was  posting patterns and the receipes for the patterns.   Is their any way to retrieve and post them or contact him and let him know that the site is back up again?

I read on an earlier posting that Stephen Robert was going to try and build up a tying library.

SP, as usual, your talent shows! Seeing the fly/poppers tied by all of y'all lets me know I'm ''home ''again. I've missed seeing all of y'all's handiwork, the photos are great and give me a target to shoot for, thanks again for showing you poppers. Take care, John.

Fly Tying / Bullet head bobbins
« Last post by Catch on April 19, 2017, 07:55:05 AM »
They say that in fly fishing - and fly tying - you never stop learning. I learned something new, I think, recently.  At the Atlanta Fly Fishing Show I picked up a couple more ceramic bobbins. A tier can NEVER have enough bobbins, right?

These were bullet variety. I must be leading a sheltered life to have not used these before in 29 years of tying.  I find they have so much better control than the flat head variety. I am now spoiled.

Question is, is this just me? Or do bullet head bobbins really better?
