Hey there Flyfish, how are you doing? The ''downhill'' part is I could spend all my money on 2 wt. stuff, however, Marilyn has other ideas, mortgage, food, clothes, insurance and Dr. bills. I really don't see the need for all that stuff, but she does, go figure. How are you two doing and are you getting any more fishing in since retirement set in? You two take care, John. :stirthepot:

Rick I feel your pain. It has been about 3 weeks since we have have had any good rains, some showers here and there but no ground soakers like we need. Thankfully the place I fish close to home is not used for watering a gold course or anything else. I may have to drive about 25 miles, to the State Park I used to work at to get some real good 'gill fishing done. Here's hoping you get some good rains soon. Take care, John.

Went tot he pond near the local university.  With no measurable rain for 3 weeks now the pond was down about two feet.
They water the golf course and soccer fields from this pond.  Did not get very many fish, but still had fun.

G' day to everyone,

To me length or weight is not the most important thing in fly fishing ( or to any other kind of fishing ), having fun is the most important. If you do catch some fish then that is even better. If you catch a BIG fish, then oh boy that is great. Go fishing and have fun

Have a wonderful day today,

Mike, looks like the 2wt. made a good accounting for itself. I have two 2wt. TFO's, the 6' and the 8' and both are a blast to fish with. Those two and my 3wt. are about all I fish with these. A friend of mine, Rex White, a member here introduced me to 2 wt's. and it has been all downhill from there. I enjoy the 2 wt. rod for gills, lots of action. Take care, John.

I am Sooooo glad to see the old site up and running again, missed it and the people a bunch. I tried the FB gig, just was no fun. Thanks Uncle Larry and all those who worked so hard to get us all back together, I appreciate it very much and I'm sure others do also. We may be starting over but we will be Number 1 again, thanks again, Take care, John.

Let's just be correct is the message I'm getting and it definitely works for me. I usually don't even weight or measure my catches, get them in and then release them unless they are headed to the skillet. I think most of the folks on this site are pretty up front on stuff and I'm glad to be back with this group. Take care, John.
