6:30pm
Rapides Westside Library, 5416 Provine, Alexandria, LA

For our final tying session of the year, Gene Taylor will lead us in tying up the Hippie Chick.  Created by Steve Dally, this is a streamer fly good for deep water fishing, from coldwater trout to smallmouth, largemouth and other species.

Bring your tools. If none, the club has a few sets for use during these sessions. Materials are provided.

As always, beginners are welcome!

Warmwater Fly Fishing / sugggestion
« Last post by Rick Z on November 08, 2017, 09:29:17 AM »
Since the warm water season is appearing to near and end for many of us, here is a suggestion.
Casting for Recovery has 4 warm water events next year.  Reel recovery has seven warm water events next year.
You might think about tying up 14 of your favorite pattern and send the flies to them.

I definitely plan to fish the Long Tom at some point(probably also
make up some with the paint jobs I used on the two Gerbubble Bugs)
The others are either too large given my poor casting, the painting
steps take too long even for me, or both.
