9th annual Rio Grande Fly Fishing Rodeo
Saturday, October 7, 2017
8:00am to 12pm (weigh-in)
Members of NOFF will be at the weigh-in site at 7:30am to answer any questions you may have. We will have coffee and donuts as well.
Location: New Orleans City Park

Registration and weigh-in site: At the intersection of Henry Thomas Drive and Palm Drive. (Between I-610 and Christian Brothers School, under the oak trees across from the Blue Rose art sculpture) Look for the NOFF sign and tent.

Information and Rules:
• This tournament is open to all fly fishers who wish to participate.
• There is a $10 registration fee.
• Registration deadline is 8:00 AM on Saturday. If you have not registered before this time you will not be eligible to participate.
• All registration fees will be donated to Casting For Recovery.  You are welcome to contribute more if you choose to do so.  Please check out all they do for women with breast cancer by visiting their website.
• Fishing for the Rio Grande Cichlid in beautiful New Orleans City Park.
• Legal entries are limited to fish only caught with artificial flies on fly rods.
• Legal fishing area is bounded on the south by City Park Avenue, the west by Marconi Blvd, the North by Filmore Ave. and the east by Bayou St. John. Fishing is allowed in Bayou St. John between Robert E. Lee Blvd and Lafitte Ave. The bayou that runs along Marconi between Robert E. Lee Blvd. and Harrison Avenue is also legal fishing grounds. Fishing is not allowed in any areas of the City Park golf courses. Any participant fishing this area will be immediately disqualified.
• Longest Rio Grande Cichlid wins top prize and bragging rights for the year!
• Lunch and drinks provided for registered participants
• Maps of approved fishing areas will be available.
• Participants should bring a chair, sunscreen, and a bug repellant of their choice.
• All participants entering fish must be in line by 12:00 noon. Anyone in line after this time will not be allowed to enter their fish.
• First place prize is a TFO NXT 4/5 wt. Fly Rod/Reel combo. Prizes will also be awarded for 2nd through 5th places.
• In the event of a tie, the award will go to the fish checked in at the earliest time. Please remember to check-in your fish when you arrive at weigh-in. Entrants may only enter one fish and win one prize.
