Bass Fishing in the heat
« on: July 23, 2017, 08:57:58 PM »
I managed to catch a few bass in the heat and humidity.I was using poppers and mini zonkers.
There are a lot of huge grass carp swimming along the banks in this lake.I am not sure what has brought them about but i have never seen this many in this lake before.
State regs say we have to release grass carp immediately but i would love to catch one of these monsters.
I have never tied carp flies but i will have to find me a couple good patterns and give it a try.

A few bass caught.

Thomas, They are small bass but i love catching them.
This lake is a rare jewel. It is only 6 miles from my home and most days i am alone fishing it. This lake is open to everyone but it just does not get a lot of traffic. One of my favorites!
